2025 Scholarship Reception: Our 50th!
It is with great pleasure that the 2025 Scholarship Committee invites all AWC members and their guests to a reception on Thursday, May 22, 2025, in honor of this year's recipient, Dr. Pernille Bjerre Trent. This is the Club’s 50th Scholarship award, and represents our long history of fundraising for his wonderful cause.
Please join us in celebrating all your hard fundraising work! The scholarship recipient will speak about her fascinating work, we will enjoy food and refreshments served by Ampy Basa, and there will be a musical performance.

Details about this year's winner:
Dr. Trent will be an International Gynecologic Oncology Fellow at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in NYC starting this summer. The fellowship is a two-year program which educates candidates to become competent within all fields of gynecologic surgery, including advanced ovarian cancer and robotic assisted surgery. She will be working with and learning from the world’s leading surgeons in the field of gynecologic cancer surgery. After two years, she will return to her position at the Norwegian Radium Hospital, the largest gynecologic oncology center in Norway. Not only will her skills improve the lives of women living with gynecological cancers, she will also share her knowledge with other surgeons in Norway. In addition to being a medical doctor and surgeon, she has also just completed a PhD on new surgical procedures for endometrial cancer.
Dr. Trent will be travelling to New York with her husband and young son. We are so proud to be supporting Dr. Trent in her pursuit of the latest cutting-edge surgical skills.
