Have you ever wondered what our scholarship is and who these winners are? What they have done as a result of winning?

2011 AWC Scholarship Recipient Asbjørg Stray Pedersen, has been in the media a lot lately. Aftenposten, Dagensmedisin and TV2 have all covered the news that Norway will now offer newborn screenings to detect SCID an immune deficiency, that in worst cases can lead to early death, however if detected early, can be reversed. During their trial period at Rikshospitalet, they discovered two cases of SCID, both were treated, and both are now healthy babies!
